We are united by our shared heritage in preserving our cultural identity

For those unfamiliar, Anambra is a state in southeastern Nigeria, created in 1976 from the former East-Central State and later restructured in 1991 with the creation of Enugu State. The Anambra State Association Women (ASA Women) Houston is a nonprofit community organization that represents women of Anambra origin by birth, marriage, or adoption.

ASA Women is far more than a social organization. We are united by our shared heritage and a common commitment to preserving our cultural identity while serving our communities. Our mission is to empower individuals to embrace African values, promote healthy living, support charitable initiatives, and extend hope to the needy and underserved.

My name is Nina Ulasi. Afa Otutum Bu Osodie-eme, and it is my privilege to serve as President of ASA Women. Together with an exceptional team of dedicated women, we provide a welcoming forum that promotes the welfare of Anambra women, their families, and our broader community. Guided by our core values—Love, Unity, Respect, Integrity, and Prosperity—we strive to make a meaningful and lasting impact through service and compassion.

One of our signature initiatives is the annual Marathon Cancer Walk, through which we raise awareness, advocate for early detection, and support efforts to combat cancer. We invite you to join us in this life-saving mission, whether through participation, partnership, or generous support.

Houston is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the United States and is home to thousands of Anambrarians. If you are an Anambra woman by birth, marriage, or adoption, you already have a place in our family. We warmly invite you to connect with us, become involved, and help us continue building a stronger, healthier, and more united community.

Thank you for visiting our website. We look forward to welcoming you and encourage you to contact us with any questions or to learn more about our organization.
